'Fi's bright papercut artworks make original and fun presents for christenings, weddings, anniversaries and birthdays and her colourful, hand cuts silhouette portraits have become popular with families all over the world looking for a personal, timeless and unique piece of art.'
After initially drawing an outline shape, Fi creates her bold and bright artworks from sheets of coloured paper by cutting, folding and layering. She then carefully places and raises each piece in place to give a three dimensional effect.
While taking a break from primary school teaching to focus on her young family, Fi began creating bright and striking children's artworks for clients looking for unique and personal presents. Her growing collection now includes pieces for adults too, and she is always delighted to consider new commissions if you have an idea in mind.
Prior to teaching, Fi worked in children's book design and magazine publishing and uses her meticulous design experience and skill in her pieces today. After initially drawing an outline shape, Fi uses carefully curated and high quality coloured paper to create her final artworks. She then fixes and raises her finished papercuts off the page, to give a floating three dimensional effect within the frame.
More recently, Fi has learnt to hand-cut silhouette portraits. She combines this historic form of portraiture with her love of colour to provide clients with timeless, colourful art pieces that capture their favourite people.
